Heavy rain caused serious flooding in parts of Dorset yesterday.
Powerlines and trees were brought down in strong winds.
Many roads were left impassable, with road closures put in place.
Firefighters from Bridport and Beaminster were sent to Borrowlan Lane, Toller Porcorum after a delivery van became stuck in flood water.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said:
"Bridport's wading team rescued the driver and then removed the vehicle from the flood water.
" A vehicles air intake for the engine are quite low, normally in the front grill. Water can not be compressed inside an engine. Therefore your engine will stop, leaving you stranded in a potentially life threatening situation with rising flood water."
Both Bridport Fire Engines were also mobilised to a vehicle stuck in flood water on Bredy Road, Burton Bradstock.
On arrival the owner had managed to get themselves to safety. Crews were able to push the vehicle out of the water.
Meanwhile the Environment Agency say river levels are rising steadily on the Lower Dorset Frome.
Areas most at risk include areas in Dorchester, West Stafford, Bockhampton, Lewell, Tincleton, Pallington, Waddock, Moreton, Wool and East Stoke.
Flooding is expected at areas in Dorchester, West Stafford, Bockhampton, Lewell, Tincleton, Pallington, Waddock, Moreton, Wool and East Stoke from 08:00 AM today (1 November)
A spokesperson for the Environment Agency said:
"No further rainfall is forecast however river levels are rising steadily in response to yesterday's rainfall.
"We are monitoring rainfall and river levels and are checking rivers for blockages in the area.
"Monitor local water levels and weather conditions. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
"Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. "
Part of the A351 Sandford Road remains shut this morning while 10 very large pines trees that feel yesterday are being cleared.
