A driver had to be rescued after his vehicle became stuck in flood water near Toller Porcorum yesterday. (9 December)

Crews from Bridport and Beaminster Fire Station were called to Barrowland Lane.

A spokesperson for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

"On arrival wading crews from Bridport pushed the owner and their van out of the flood water.

"If you see a flood sign or flood water across a road, do not attempt to drive through it. It may add a few extra minutes to your journey but find an alternative, safer route."
