Man taken to hospital after Melplash crash
Fire crews had to help free the driver
A man has been taken to hospital after an accident near Beaminster yesterday morning. (14 July)
Police were called about a single vehicle crash on the A3066 at Melplash just after 6.30am.
Fire fighters from Bridport and Beaminster helped free the driver from his vehicle.
A spokesperson for Bridport Fire Station said:
"Crews carried out casualty care and used a reciprocating saw to remove the windscreen and part of the roof to extract the casualty before being handed over to the ambulance service for onward care.
"We would like to pass our thanks to the public for their patients whilst the road was closed and all emergency services dealt with this incident."
The road was closed for 2 hours.
