A Covid fine has been slapped on a motorist who told Police they'd driven from Hampshire "for some fresh air" after being stopped by officers on the Wiltshire Dorset border.

Under the current coronavirus lockdown, only essential journeys are permitted.

Despite the beautiful panoramic countryside views over Melbury Down, North Dorset and The Chalke Valley, Police took a dim view of the driver's reason to be at this rural viewpoint on February 10th.

This driver was caught and dealt with by North Dorset Police in a lay-by on the B3081 at Breeze Hill near Zig Zag Hill on the Wiltshire-Dorset border.

After issuing the fine, Officers sent the driver home.
