Dorset woman dies in Hertfordshire car crash

Police have confirmed a pensioner from Dorset has died, following a car crash in Hertfordshire.

The woman in her 70s was driving a Mazda MX5, which with a white Mercedes, on the A414 at Eastwick, near Hertford, at around 10.30am on Saturday morning (1st July).

Two people in the Mercedes suffered non-life threatening injures.

An investigation's been launched into the circumstances.

Sergeant Tim Davies from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said:

“Sadly a woman lost her life (on Saturday) morning. Her family is being supported by a family liaison officer. We are thoroughly investigating the circumstance of the road traffic collision and are appealing for any drivers who saw what happened or who has dash cam footage to get in touch.”

There's now an investigation by Hertfordshire Police to work out the circumstances.
