Around 4.5 tonnes of unusable donations to Ukraine have been cleared from a sorting centre in Dorset.

Much of it's been taken away to be recycled.

Dorset Council's Waste Services stepped in to help at Castlepoint , after requests from local councillors.

A spokesperson said:

"We have also pledged to make our vehicles available to any of our driving staff who are volunteering as part of similar local efforts to support Ukraine."

Dorset Council are urging people think about making financial donations to one of the global organisations raising emergency funds.
