Dorset has reached another coronavirus vaccine milestone.

201,211 doses have been administered to residents as of February 7th 2021.

It comes just two months after the programme started on December 8th last year.

Dr Karen Kirkham, local Dorset GP, and Clinical lead for the Dorset COVID-19 vaccination programme, said:

“This is a fantastic achievement and I would like to thank everyone involved for their continued commitment – from those giving the jabs on the front line through to the business and practice managers in the background making this enormous programme run smoothly, our dedicated volunteers who are helping on site and everyone who has spent the last few months making the plans which have seen us be able to vaccinate an unprecedented number of people in such a relatively short time.”

Dorset's coronavirus case rate is falling, although it is still higher now than it was in November. There were 146 cases per 100,000 people living in the county in the last week.

Anyone over the age of 70 who has yet to be offered a vaccine is now being encouraged to contact the NHS by booking one here: http://www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination or by calling 119.

If you are offered an appointment and are unable to make it please let the team know as someone else can use your spot. You will be offered another opportunity.
