Teenager arrested in Bridport on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker
Three officers reportedly sustained minor injuries
Three police officers reportedly sustained minor injuries during the arrest of a teenage boy in Bridport.
Police attended a property in South Street on Monday night where a window had been smashed.
Officers then carried out a search of the area.
A 16-year-old boy from Bridport was arrested at around 9.20pm on South Street on suspicion of criminal damage.
He's been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
During the incident, it is reported that the boy assaulted a police officer and he was further arrested on suspicion of assault by beating of an emergency worker and resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.
A spokesperson for Bridport Police said:
"Three officers sustained minor injuries. The increased police presence in the area was due to the level of violence reportedly being used against officers.
"The boy was taken to hospital for treatment to a pre-existing injury to his arm. He is currently assisting officers with their enquiries."
