Here’s a list of all the things you can do from today

Today marks the second stage of the government’s easing of lockdown restrictions in England.

It means the re-entry of the ‘rule of six’ and the start of some outdoor sports.

But you still won’t be able to go down the pub for a drink or even hang around after a round of golf.

Here’s everything you’re able to do:

Social contact:

You’ll be able to meet outside either is groups of six, or as two separate households. That includes in private gardens.

Travel:

The stay at home rule officially ends today but many restrictions remain in place. Holiday travel abroad is still prohibited. The government is still advising us to work from home where possible.

Sports:

Some outdoor sports facilities are able to reopen today but there are strict rules in places on what is allowed at those clubs. This includes golf clubs, tennis clubs and courts and basketball courts, if they’re outdoors.

Weymouth Golf Club is one of the clubs reopening today after 12 weeks closed.

Club Professional Dan Carter told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset:

“I think people are desperate to get out into the fresh air, clear their heads, see their friends and have a game of golf.

“We are a very, very sociable club here. They’ve gone from having all that to absolutely nothing.”

But it won’t be back to business as usual as members will still be under some restrictions.

Dan added:

“Not being able to touch the flagsticks, no breaks in the bunkers, before the round you’re having to pre-book everything for track and trace.

“After the round for the first few weeks it’s going to be difficult because there’s no rule of six outdoors, it is a case of finishing your round of golf, storing your clubs and the probably getting back in your car and leaving the premises.”

Instead, if you’d like to hang around after your round for some food and a drink you’ll have to wait until restrictions ease further on April 12th.
