Dorset Rock Choir to hold 3 concerts for Ukraine
The first concerts are taking place in Dorchester and Weymouth tomorrow (30 June)
Dorset Rock Choir will be raising their voices in support of the people of Ukraine.
'Sing for Ukraine' will see singers will be taking part in three concerts over two days, starting tomorrow (30 June) in Dorchester and Weymouth and in Poole on Friday.
Money raised will go to the Red Cross Ukraine Crisis Appeal.
Dorset Rock Choir Leader Stacey Hobday told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset it's a cause very close to their hearts, with one of their members having family in Ukraine.
"There was a whole period of time when she wasn't hearing from them, and we were going through that with her. Every week at choir we would ask, have you heard from your family, do you know if they are out?
"They are safe thankfully. Just living that tiny experience with her just made us feel what these people are going through."
"There is going to be about 190 people take part over the two days. They are all really excited as we didn't get to perform together when singing wasn't allowed during the pandemic. So we haven't done any indoor concerts for a very long time"

"We really want to raise the roof, sing and have a really joyous time, even if we can scratch a tiny bit of the surface by giving some money to people who really need it."
