Dorset Police: Too many "law-abiding citizens" drink or drug driving
More than 100 drivers in Dorset were arrested for drink or drug driving in December

Dorset Police have revealed drivers arrested during their Christmas drink and drug drive campaign were not necessarily their "usual" suspects.
Too many people who are otherwise "law-abiding citizens" were detained, the force said.
Police made 112 arrests during the operation in December 2021, an increase of 27 per cent on December 2020.
84 drivers were arrested for drink driving, 30 for driving under the influence of drugs and one for failing to provide a sample for analysis.
Some drivers were arrested for multiple offences.
Of those arrested for drink driving, 65 were men and 19 were women.
The youngest was aged 18 and the oldest was 75, with the average age of those arrested being 38.
Of the 30 people arrested for drug driving, 25 were men and five were women.
The youngest was aged 17 and the oldest was 54, with the average age of those charged being 30.
Superintendent Adrian Leisk, said: "Those arrested throughout the campaign were not necessarily your 'usual' suspects.
"Too many people who are otherwise law-abiding citizens, fail to consider the untold devastation that drink and drug driving can cause."
