Man to appear in court over Sherborne crash

A man's been summonsed to court after a crash in Sherborne

A man is due to appear in court in connection with a serious injury road traffic crash near Sherborne.

Dorset Police received a report at 7.27am on Tuesday 8th June 2021 of a collision on an unclassified road near to Keepers Cottage, in the area of Gainsborough Hill south of Sherborne. The collision involved a silver Toyota and a blue Subaru.

The driver of the Toyota – a local man aged in his 50s – was taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

The driver of the Subaru – a woman aged in her 50s from the Bradford Abbas area – sustained minor injuries.

Following enquiries, a 56-year-old man from Sherborne has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 30 November 2021 for an offence of driving without due care and attention.
