Dorset Knob Fest called off over size concerns
Over 8,000 people came to the festival in 2019.
The Dorset Knob Throwing Fest has been cancelled for another year over concerns about the festival's size.
Event organisers say it's grown too big for the small village committee to handle on their own.
The Dorset Knob Throwing and Frome Valley Food Festival was last run in person in 2019 when over 8,000 people came to the event from all over the UK.
In 2020, a Knob eating competition took place on the internet run in lieu of games that have become a tradition at the festival.
But, the committee lost the support of its event management team in late 2021 and supply agreements with Moores Biscuits took much longer than anticipated.
Alex Watts is the Dorset Knob Throwing Committee Chairperson. She said:
"2019, we heard of people coming down from the North West, from Scotland, from Ireland, over for this event. I do think it helps to put Dorset on the map, and plus it's great marketing for the likes of Moores Biscuits and other key sponsors of the event as well.
"We just have to look forward and hope we can make it happen another time."
