Dorset children's hospice patron Chris Jarvis on backing the charity
The CBBC star has been part of Julia's House for many years
CBeebies favourite Chris Jarvis is calling for Dorset's community to keep supporting Julia's House children's hospice.
He's been a patron of the charity for many years, describing it as a 'truly important' cause.
Chris has told Greatest Hits Radio why he got involved with the charity in the first place:
"I became aware of Julia's House years ago when one of my close friends' sons was a regular visitor and through that, I really understood the true importance of it.
"It's not just a hospice, it's not just a place. It's the people and the people there are probably the most important thing as well as the resources."
The 'Show Me, Show Me' presenter has been a patron of Julia's House for a number of years.
He's supported many of the charity's campaigns and this week has been appearing at a family Easter Egg trail in Wiltshire in aid of them.
Chris says Julia's House needs our backing more than ever:
"It's been the toughest time for everyone, but particularly for charities. Charities are so used to being outdoors, so much fundraising happens outdoors, so much of the work is done outdoors, so that engagement needs to come back."
95% of the funding needed to run Julia's House in Dorset comes from public donations, with just 5% provided by the Government.
