Dorset History Centre closed for two weeks

It's so 'essential work' can be carried out on site

Dorset's History Centre will be closed to the public for two weeks from today (Monday 15th January).

Staff will remain at the Bridport Road site in Dorchester to carry out essential work to make it easier for them to access the collections kept there.

The Centre looks after all of the archives for the whole of Dorset.

That includes both physical collections, on paper, parchment and printed documents, as well as audio-visual and digital records on the county's history and heritage.

They carry out conservation work on documents and support community projects on Dorset's background.

Dorset Council tell us any enquiries made to the centre during the closure time will be answered once they re-open on January 29th.
