Dorset to get £248,000 to enforce Covid restrictions
But its unclear how the money will be spent.
Dorset's getting £248,842 to help enforce Coronavirus restrictions.
The money's aimed at making Dorset Police more visible to ensure the public are complying with the rules.
Dorset Council will also get financial help with enforcement.
But it's still unclear exactly how the money will be spent.
Greatest Hits Radio Dorset put the question to Dorset Police.
They have issued us with this statement:
Assistant Chief Constable Sam de Reya, of Dorset Police, said:
"We note the news from the Home Office regarding extra funds coming to policing as a result of COVID-19.
"We await further detail and guidance on how the money is expected to be used and what enforcement measures may come alongside it.
"We will also be working closely with the OPCC and other partners on how the funds can be most effectively used to increase public safety and reduce the spread of the pandemic."
