A couple from Dorset are preparing to trek 100 kilometres along the Jurassic Coastline in support of the RNLI.

Terri and Cherys Stimpson-Peay are taking on the challenge on the 14th and 15th May.

It's in memory of Terri's brother Daniel, who passed away in 2020 and whose body was recovered by one of the charity's training boats.

Cherys and Terri said:

"The RNLI have a big place in our hearts and we are forever grateful to them for the role they played on such a terrible day.

"We know it won’t be easy but we are determined to complete this with a smile on our face in memory of our fabulous, outgoing and larger than life brother Dan, who loved the coast and who would be backing us all the way for such a worthy cause!"

The first day of their trek will take the girls 58 km from Corfe Castle to Swanage and Weymouth, before walking another 42 km from Weymouth to Bridport on the second day.

They're aiming to raise £1,000 for the RNLI and have so far had over £600 donated.

Cherys and Terri tell us it's all vital cash for the charity:

"We've been told how much things cost for the charity, and a lot of (the work) is done by volunteers. A lot of the (fundraising) comes from donations so we'll be really glad to be able to contribute."
