60,000 people will be returning to the Dorchester Showground for the County Show this weekend (Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th September) for the first time since 2019.

The event, which has been organised by the Dorchester Agricultural Society for more than 180 years is back in full swing.

Chair of the show Nicki Ralph says that they have gone all out:

“We didn’t want to come back and not be as good as we’ve been in the past, so we have come back everything blazing. We’re not cutting any corners we just want to have a fab show.”

Nicki hopes the show will run as usual despite the two year break:

“I think it is business as usual but life has changed a bit for everybody.

“Having been in touch with all the traders, some people are trading in a different way, some people aren’t trading at all and there are new traders.

“It's different but it's very exciting.”

The County Show will have around 6,000 exhibits and trade stands.

Tickets to the event cost £21 per adult with children under 16 going free.

Nicki Ralph says that's important, to attract the next generation:

“We started children coming free a long time ago because I think we have something for everyone here.

“We wanted to attract the families. They’re the future aren’t they, the children, so its important to us.”
