Dorset County Hospital has tightened up its rules on visiting.

Visits to patients on wards are now only allowed in exceptional circumstances.

The hospital says the decision is in light of the latest Tier 3 restrictions and is aimed at keeping everyone safe.

A statement on Dorset County Hospital Foundation Trust's Facebook Page asks potential visitors to contact the relevant ward for guidance.

It says:

"Where visiting is allowed, visitors must follow all the existing guidance as detailed on the visiting page of our website.

"Please remember to follow the Government guidance on tier requirements, including essential travel only."

Dorset County Hospital's website also gives details of other ways to keep in touch with loved ones in hospital.
