Dorset County Hospital Choir thanks the community with a song
They've recorded a special video
Dorset County Hospital Choir has produced a video to say thank you to the local community for their valued support.
The new video features members of the Dorset County Hospital Choir performing 'You've Got a Friend' at locations around the hospital and at home. Choir member Freya Puttock, Senior Occupational Therapist at DCH said,
"The choir was started as a health and wellbeing initiative for staff before the crisis and it became even more important during lockdown. We continued to meet virtually and often discussed how grateful we were to the community for their amazing support. Recording this song is our way to represent all DCH staff to say a massive thank you to everyone who clapped, donated items and continue to raise funds in support of our hospital. We are all so thankful for the support we have been given and continue to be shown as we head into winter. Everyone has been affected by the pandemic and we must continue to look after each other and get through this really challenging time."
With the recent launch of Dorset County Hospital Charity's Christmas Appeal this support is now more important than ever.
Simon Pearson, Head of Charity at Dorset County Hospital said,
"This video is a heartfelt tribute to all our donors and fundraisers and the local organisations and companies who continue to support Dorset County Hospital. Our Christmas Appeal will enable DCH Charity to continue to fund projects to benefit our patients and support initiatives for the well-being of our staff."
The Christmas Appeal is the first special appeal under DCH Charity's 'Power of Giving' fundraising campaign. It will raise vital funds to enhance patient care and staff well-being across all parts of the hospital such as Cancer Care, Elderly Care, Stroke, Maternity, Paediatric Care, Critical Care and other specialist care areas.
The video, which was produced by Max Neilson- Howes and Frazer Mitchell from Jurassic Coast Studios, features members of the Dorset County Hospital Choir performing the song at the Hospital, at home and at the studio.
Frazer said,
"We have been very happy to work with the DCH Choir and Dorset County Hospital Charity on this video and have enjoyed being part of such a worthwhile project - the staff at the hospital were great to work with - they do a fantastic job and should be celebrated."
The video was filmed in accordance with the prevailing restrictions as these applied during the period of production.
