Dorset Council has released details of how services will be affected on the day of Her Majesty The Queen's funeral on Monday (19th September).

They've said 'most public services will be suspended' as a mark of respect.

Here's the details of how different services will see changes:

Bin collections

There will be no collections of any kind on Dorset's kerbsides on Monday.

If your waste is normally picked up on a Monday, your rubbish and recycling will be collected on Saturday 24th September instead.

Food waste bins will be emptied on the next collection day (Monday 26th September) - but can be taken to a household recycling centre from Tuesday (20th September) if they need to be emptied sooner.

Garden waste collections will be caught up from Tuesday 20th September, with residents asked to leave the bin out until it's emptied.

If your bins are usually emptied on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, you can put your waste out as normal.

Tips including Weymouth's will be affected on the day of the Queen's funeral - with some disruption the day before too

Household recycling centres

All HRCs run by Dorset Council will be closed on Monday 19th September.

There will also be disruption on Sunday 18th September at Weymouth household recycling centre due to the Ironman event.

Access to Dorchester's centre could also be disrupted on Sunday because of the event.

Customer Services

The Council's customer services team, Dorset Direct, will be closed for general enquiries on Monday 19th September.

In an emergency, you can call 01305 221000 though, with other services also available online.

Libraries

All Dorset Council libraries will be closed on Monday 19th September.

That means books of condolence will not be available to be signed on that day, but will be open once again on Tuesday 20th September.

Country Parks

Facilities across Dorset will be accessible to the public.

But visitor centres, cafés, and other leisure facilities on site will be closed., along with the car park at Moors Valley.

Leisure Centres

All internally managed Dorset Council leisure centres, such as Purbeck and Queen Elizabeth Leisure Centre in Wimborne will be closed on Monday 19th September.

Blandford Leisure Centre, Weymouth Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre, and Dorchester Sports Centre, which are managed on the Council’s behalf by leisure operators, will also be closed.

Registration Services

Registration Offices and the Crematorium will be closed on Monday 19th September, except for services that are already booked.
