Dorset Council Leader calls for all school staff to be vaccinated

Councillor Spencer Flower says it needs to happen 'as soon as possible'

The Leader of Dorset Council is calling for all school staff to be vaccinated against coronavirus as seen as possible.

Councillor Spencer Flower is said to be penning a letter to the Secretary of State to implement the change.

All schools and collages across Dorset are now closed to all except for children of key workers and vulnerable children.

There will be a return to remote learning and summer exams will not be going ahead as planned.

Speaking before the national lockdown was announced, Councillor Spencer Flower said:

“We are proud of our schools and our school leaders in Dorset and will continue to support them in risk assessing and delivering safe environments for our children and campaign to see all school staff prioritised for vaccination as soon as possible."
