Dorset Council say they have already been inundated with offers of help from people who want to welcome refugees from Ukraine into their homes.

The Dorset Together Workgroup, who helped people shielding during the pandemic, has now been reformed.

They will be supporting the refugee and resettlement programme.

Dorset Council say they are still waiting for more details from the home office, but in the meantime people can register offers of accommodation via this email address:

A spokesperson for Dorset Council said:

"We are also working very closely with our colleagues across Dorset Council, at BCP Council, and in the voluntary and community sector to ensure our response is planned and we are able to give timely and accurate advice to individuals and organisations."
