Interim Chief Executive in place at Dorset Council
Sam Crowe's stepping in after Matt Prosser left for New Zealand
An interim Chief Executive is in place at Dorset Council - after the previous one left for a similar role in New Zealand.
Sam Crowe, Dorset's Director of Public Health, will take charge of the authority temporarily, while a replacement's found for Matt Prosser.
The Council say they've had more than 130 people apply for the Chief Exec role, with the closing date passing last weekend (23rd February).
They've said they'll choose shortlisted candidates for a selection process, which will involve technical exercises and stakeholder panels.
There'll then be a staffing committee of councillors across all political groups to help pick a preferred person, with the Full Council making a final decision on 10th April.
Sam Crowe took temporary charge from 1st March, and will remain until the permanent successor's in post.
He's been part of the Senior Leadership Team at Dorset Council since since 2019, with the authority saying he'll 'provide stability to the organisation and ensure that the council continues to operate in a smooth, safe and legal way'.
