A warning's been issued about a potential landslide at a Dorset beach - after a massive crack was spotted in the cliff face.

West Bay Coastguards identified the potentially problematic piece of the coastline on Tuesday evening: just to the west of the Anchor Inn at Seatown.

They're urging us all to stay clear of the area as it could fall at any time.

They advise:

  • Read all of the local signage and safety information.
  • When walking on the cliff path, keep well away from the edge of the cliff, keep your dog on a lead and your children close by.
  • When walking on the beach under the cliffs, the Coastguard recommend that the height of the cliff is the distance you should stay away from it.
  • For example if the cliff is 50ft high, then you should stay a minimum of 50ft away from the base of the cliff.

This goes for walkers as well as families looking to spend the day on the beach.
