NFU Mutual Wessex has given out grants to local causes
A rural insurers with a branch in Wareham has given grants to local charities through their national 'giving fund'.
NFU Mutual Wessex has chosen to support Dorset's Julia's House children's hospice and Wimborne Food Bank.
The causes will each receive £3,189.50, out of a national fund of £1.92 million.
Caroline Attreed, Corporate Fundraiser at Julia's House, said:
"We rely almost entirely on donations to fund our life-changing support for local families. I’d like to say a big thank you to the partners of NFU Mutual Wessex for nominating us to receive funding through the Agency Giving Fund. You make it possible for us to be there for the growing number of families in our community who depend on our care.”
Sharon Keenan, Manager, Wimborne Food Bank, said:
“We are greatly appreciative of the nomination & financial donation that we have received from NFU Mutual. This will be a huge help in us being able to buy the stock that we are running short of & to buy fresh food for our weekly cook bags. The rise in the cost of living is affecting more & more families & resulting in them struggling to feed their family. Over the last few months we have seen a drop in donations so thank you so much for kindness & generosity as it will really help us to be able to support people facing hardship.”
Steven Bartlett, Senior Partner at NFU Mutual Wessex, said:
“NFU Mutual has been a champion of rural communities the length and breadth of the UK for over 110 years, and the Agency Giving Fund champions local causes that are working day and night to change people’s lives and give hope for a better future. We’re extremely proud to have nominated Julia’s House Children’s Hospice, and Wimborne Food Bank for this donation and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community.”
