UPDATE: Gillingham man due in court over fatal North Dorset crash

A man is due to appear in court in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in North Dorset.

At around 8.15pm on Saturday 1 May 2021, Dorset Police received a report of a single vehicle collision on the B3081 Shaftesbury Road between Shaftesbury and Gillingham, near to the access to Port Regis School.

The collision involved a silver Audi Allroad estate. Emergency services attended and very sadly a 23-year-old female passenger of the Audi was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two further occupants of the vehicle were taken to Salisbury District Hospital with serious injuries.

Following a detailed investigation by the Serious Collision Investigation Team, a 30-year-old local man is due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 24 August 2022 for an offence of causing death by dangerous driving.
