Dorset's business are getting a chance to help shape the county's economic growth for the future from today (Friday 14th March).

The Council's holding a series of events for companies to put forwards ideas and hear the authority's plans.

Workshops are planned at:

• Wool – BattleLab, Dorset Innovation Park - Friday 14th March, 8.00 to 9.30am

• Bridport – Mountfield - Monday 17th March, 8.30 to 10.00am

• Wimborne – Allendale Centre - Wednesday 19th March, 8.00 to 9.30am

• Shaftesbury – Royal Chase Hotel - Friday 21st March, 8.00 to 9.30am

• Portland – Weymouth & Portland National Sailing Academy - Tuesday 25th March, 8.00 to 9.30am

Dorset Council Leader, Cllr Nick Ireland, said: “A strong economy underpins everything we want to achieve. It will increase wealth, create more opportunities for people, improve living standards, and boost funds for public services.

“These events will be used to gauge the views of businesses on the challenges they face plus the opportunities for growth.

“We want to ensure we capture the key issues in our strategy, and more importantly identify what we can do to make a step change in the county’s economic performance.”
