Coronavirus restrictions haven’t slowed down Dorset-based Aspire Adoption from finding children a loving home.

The agency have continued, without pause, through the pandemic to find families for children across the county to provide them with the security and love they need.

Aspire has successfully placed 46 children since restrictions began, and is now celebrating placing their 200th child since they launched in 2017.

Gail and her husband, adopters of Aspire’s most recent placement said:

“Since our little boy came to live with us just over two weeks ago, we can easily say our lives will never be the same again! He came from a loving foster home with a highly experienced carer who supported us during the process, as have Aspire, every step of the way!

“He is a wonderful, adorable, loving little boy – but at three and a half years old if he doesn't want to do something, you hear about it!

“It's a big change for us all and we are all settling in more and more every day. We have been working towards this time for many years so are thrilled to have him at home with us.”

Aspire would still like to hear from anyone who would consider adoption, particularly those wishing to give a home to an older child or siblings.

Jenny Warr, Service Manager of Aspire Adoption said:

“It is an amazing achievement to have placed our 200th child with their adoptive family in just over three years. But there are many children who still need a forever family and I urge anyone who has been thinking about adoption to give us a call and have a chat with us. We are always looking for potential adopters for children of all ages, but in particular we would like to speak to anyone considering siblings, children aged four or over, those with additional needs and children from different ethnicities.

“To be eligible to adopt you have to be 21 or over, you can be single, married or in a long-term relationship. You can be from any ethnic or religious background and it doesn’t matter if you are heterosexual or from the LGBTQ+ community. All sorts of people can make great adopters. We would love to hear from anyone who can give a safe and loving home to a child.”

Aspire are asking anyone who is considering adoption to give them a call on 0300 123 9868 and have a chat with Sue or Dave, who will be happy to talk to you.
