Nando’s in Dorchester is closed because the restaurant has run out of chicken to serve to customers.

Bosses there have had to shut it until further notice to wait for deliveries as staff shortages across the company are causing delays.

Staff there say they are having a delivery tomorrow morning and hope to be open for the usual time of 11:30am.

A Spokesperson from Nando’s told Greatest Hits Radio Dorset they were expecting chickens to be delivered today:

"Unfortunately the demand for PERi-PERi outstripped supply in our Dorchester restaurant. We are expecting deliveries today/ tomorrow.

"The UK food industry has been experiencing disruption across its supply chain in recent weeks due to staff shortages, and a number of our restaurants have been impacted. However, we can confirm that from today Nando’s will be lending seventy of our brilliant team members to support our key suppliers – working in partnership to help get things moving again. We expect to see this having a positive impact on the affected restaurants very soon, so please bear with us whilst we do everything we can to get our famous PERi-PERi chicken back where it belongs – on your plates!"
