Dorchester Sports Centre set to reopen on 12 April

We can use the gym and swimming pool from Monday

Dorchester Sports Centre is reopening is doors to the public on Monday (April 12th) as part of the government's further easing of lockdown.

After four months the gym and swimming pool will be open for use but group classes won't be going ahead until but will resume on May 17th.

Instead there will be a weekly wellbeing walk on Friday mornings for customers to join.

As well as the option for individual members the option to book a bike on their own within their immersive "Group Cycle Studio" and follow pre made instructor workouts.

On Monday 29th March Dorchester Sports Centre's opened it's outdoor pitches to groups including Dorchester Town Football Club.

General Manager Wayne Long said:

"The last 12 months has been difficult for the leisure industry, but Dorchester Sports Centre plays a vital role in helping to improve the health and wellbeing of people in the area. We can't wait to be able to reopen our doors."

Our team has worked hard to ensure our centre is safe, fresh and in line with government guidelines and with advice from UK Active, Swim England and Public Health England. "

The staff at Dorchester Sports Centre are now busy getting the centre ready to reopen following the governments announcement on Monday, and implementing all the necessary changes to ensure customers and staff are safe.

This includes sanitising stations, enhanced cleaning procedures, one way systems, comprehensive staff training, amended pool and gym capacities and timetable, and plastic shield installation between machines in the gym.
