Two people charged in connection with shooting near Dorchester

Two people have been arrested and charged after a reported shooting near Dorchester involving a BB gun.

Dorset Police was called at 9pm on Sunday (9 May) by the ambulance service to a report that a man had been shot with a BB gun at an address on Long Ash Lane near to Wardon Hill.

The victim – a man aged in his 20s – was taken to hospital for treatment. He sustained minor injuries.

An 18-year-old man from Dorchester was arrested and has now been charged with assault, aggravated burglary and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

In addition, a 19-year-old man from Dorchester has been arrested and charged with possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and aggravated burglary.

Both men are due to appear at Poole Magistrates' Court this morning (12 May).

The charged men and the victim are known to each other.
