The school's eco-club helped Dorchester attain Plastic Free status last year, and they've also visited Micheal Gove to talk to him about national recycling schemes.

Edd now helps schools start Eco-clubs and also supports them in achieving the Green Flag, an eco-award.

He said:

"I was speechless, i couldn't quite believe it. I feel over the moon, i feel very grateful to have been nominated.

"The children are the ones who've led us to where we are now, locally to nationally. They are the heroes. The credit goes to the children, they're the leaders of the future.

"If we can inspire more children to have these amazing opportunities across the local area and across the country that will be great."

Even amidst a pandemic Edd says the eco-club are still carrying on their work.

He says they've been visited by local MP Chris Loder to discuss a possible new Single Use Plastic Bill.

"We're still carrying on our eco-work.

"It's embedded within our school curriculum, so it's a daily thing that happens throughout the school.

The awards ceremony takes place online on Friday 13th November at 8pm.
