Dorchester Arts are celebrating as they have raise well over their £20,000 fundraising target.

They launched a Crowdfunder back in March hoping to raise that amount but instead made £22,750.

'Bridge the Gap' ran for five weeks and the Arts Centre reached their target with three days to spare.

The organisation can now look forward to presenting an outdoor summer season in venues across Dorchester.

There are also exciting plans later this year for both a refurbished Corn Exchange and theatre at The Thomas Hardye School.

Mark Tattersall, Artistic Director, said

"We have been delighted with the response from so many people - many we know as supporters of the arts across Dorset, but many are new to us. The supportive comments we received as people donated demonstrates how important the arts are to our community, and we can now move forward with our plans to improve the town's arts venues and bring people together safely, post Covid-19'."

Details of summer and autumn performances will be available on their website in the next few weeks.
