Two dogs rescued from Bournemouth flat fire

Two dogs have been rescued from a flat fire in Bournemouth, with a neighbour also helped to safety.
Crews from Springbourne, Westbourne, Christchurch and Redhill Park were called out at 9.00am today (Friday 2nd February).
Alarms were heard by neighbours in Christchurch Road, prompting them to call the brigade.
The occupier wasn't home at the time, but firefighters with breathing apparatus went in to help two dogs out.
The pets were given oxygen by crews, using their specialist animal equipment, and then were taken to a vet for precautionary checks.
Firefighters also helped a neighbour out of the second floor of the property, using a fire escape hood which helps to prevent smoke inhalation.
It's believed the fire started in a kitchen appliance accidentally.
