Dog walker hit in the face in Bridport

A man's been assaulted while walking his dog in Bridport.

Dorset Police have just released details of the incident that happened around 8pm on Wednesday night.

The victim – a local man aged in his 50s – was walking his dog in the Bridport Community Orchard to the rear of St Mary’s Church in South Street when he had a verbal altercation with another man.

It's reported that the man then punched the victim in the face, causing a bump to his head.

Police Constable Dan White, of West Dorset police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened to please get in touch.”
