Dog rescued near Cogden Beach
The much loved pet was entangled in thick gorse
A dog's been rescued after becoming trapped in dense gorse near Cogden Beach, Burton Bradstock.
The owner had been walking his dog on its lead in-between the National Trust car park and the beach when he slipped over and the dog complete with extendable lead ran off.
It then became entangled in the dense gorse.
Unable to free his dog and the lead which were both out of reach and entangled in the gorse, the owner called for assistance.
A spokesman for West Bay Coastguard Rescue Teams aid:
"Officers responded to the station in West Bay to pick up their equipment and rescue vehicle, then headed to meet the dog's owner at Cogden.
"Using hand tools, the undergrowth was sufficiently released, the lead was cut and the dog was freed and returned to its grateful owner.
"A great result all round and the owner did exactly the right thing by calling for assistance when he found himself in difficulty.
"Stay safe on the coast, but If you find yourself in difficulty, or if you see something that gives you cause for concern, do not hesitate."
