A dog's been rescued after getting stranded near a cliff edge in Dorset.

Coastguard Rescue Teams from Lulworth, Kimmeridge and Wyke were called to Man o' War Beach yesterday afternoon.

Frankie the Labrador was stranded on a patch of grass 20m from the cliff edge adjacent to the coastal path.

A spokesperson for Lulworth Coastguard Rescue Team said:

"A coastguard cliff tech was deployed initially to stabilise Frankie using an ‘Immediate Rescue’ technique prior to both being hauled to the cliff top when other coastguard teams arrived on scene.

"Frankie was reunited with a very grateful owner who was politely reminded of the need to always keep pets securely on leads when walking coastal and cliff top paths."
