Detectives continuing to investigate an armed robbery in Shaftesbury have made a televised appeal for information.
Enquiries remain ongoing into a robbery that was reported at the Co-op store in Beaufoy Close at 1.36pm on Wednesday 30 June 2021. A man in possession of a handgun approached the till and demanded money from the shop worker before leaving the store with a quantity of cash.
Detectives from Weymouth CID have carried out a detailed investigation into the incident and they are continuing to explore every line of enquiry available.
As part of this, an appeal was broadcast on Crimewatch Live this morning, which included images of a man they are still trying to identify.
Detective Constable Dave Barnes, of Weymouth CID, said:
“This was an extremely unusual incident for this area and we are continuing to do everything we can to identify the man responsible.
“I am grateful for the support of Crimewatch Live in sharing our appeal and would continue to urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to please come forward.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the images that were released as part of our appeal, as we are keen to speak to him in connection with this investigation.”
