It looks like Debenhams in Weymouth has finally closed its doors to customers.

A sign has been put on the door thanking shoppers for their support but saying they will not be opening again.

It's after news broke at the weekend that The Range is set to move into the building on New Bond Street, which could create up to 80 local jobs.

A new planning application shows plans for The Range and Iceland retailers to move into the building.

Application to Dorset Council for new signage

The application is for neon signs on the front of the building.

A spokesperson from the Range said:

“The new store will create 80 new jobs, across a selection of full and part-time roles from Store to Department Managers and Warehouse Supervisors to Retail Assistants.”
