Cyclist seriously hurt in Weymouth crash

A 68 year old cyclist has been left with serious injuries in a crash in Weymouth.

He was riding a white electric bike on Dorchester Road at around 10.20pm on Tuesday night (20th December), when he was involved in a collision with a Ford Fiesta.

The rider was taken to hospital for treatment.

There's now an appeal from Dorset Police for any witnesses to the crash to come forward, especially if they can help with video footage.

Sergeant Mike Gatfield, of the traffic unit, said:

“I urge any witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to please contact us to assist our investigation.

“Also, I would like to thank the public for their understanding whilst the road remained closed.”
