Crowdfunder launched to support Dorchester Arts during works

Efforts to improve the Corn Exchange will mean a 'temporary challenge'

A crowdfunding campaign's been set up by Dorchester Arts, to support them while a redevelopment takes place at their Corn Exchange home.

The project, which is just getting underway, will see the entrance improved, a new bar built, repositioned toilets, a visual arts space and community area. |newtab)

But while that's ongoing, the organisation say they face a 'temporary challenge' and are looking for the public's support.

Dorchester Arts say the works will mean some parts of the building are out of use, while daytime hirers will face disruption due to the noise on site.

They're now hoping to raise ÂŁ15,000 in three weeks to plug a 'short-term financial gap'. |newtab)

The charity say that will 'help cover the loss of income during this period, ensuring the organisation can continue to deliver outstanding cultural experiences to Dorchester and the wider county'.

Mark Tattersall, Artistic Director of Dorchester Arts, said:

“We are asking all our supporters, and all those who care about the arts in Dorset, to contribute. All donations will directly support our efforts to maintain our operations and ensure that we can continue delivering exceptional cultural experiences to Dorchester and beyond. Please do look at our page, watch our video, and consider donating – we would be very grateful!”
