Case rates across Dorset are continuing to fall during lockdown but they are still above average for the South West.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council's case rate (114.1 per 100,000) is now just below the England average of 118.3, according to the latest figures released on Fruday.

However both BCP and Dorset Council (77.7) case rates remain above the average for the South West (70.2).

Over a quarter of a million people in Dorset have now received a vaccine.

But Health Officials are reminding us to continue to follow the rules as restriction's haven't been lifted yet.

In a statement on their website, Public Health Dorset say:

" We must remain vigilant and continue to follow the rules - even if you've had the vaccine - to avoid an increase in cases.

"The Government announced the roadmap for lifting lockdown. This is a four-step plan for the easing of restrictions. It's important to remember that the dates set out are the earliest possible dates for restrictions to be lifted."

Cases in care homes in Dorset are falling, but Public Health Dorset their advice continues to be that visits to care homes should only take place within the guidance in exceptional circumstances to protect residents, staff and visitors.
