Hospitalisations in Dorset are significantly lower than during previous waves of the pandemic.

94 people are currently being treated for Covid-19 in the county's hospitals.

That's compared to around 550 patients this time last year.

Public Health Dorset say while infection rates are starting to fall, they still remain at very high levels, meaning your chances of catching Covid-19 still remain high.

They're urging everyone to 'continue to exercise caution by following the public health measures.'

The latest information released on Public Health Dorset's website says:

"High infection rates are having a significant impact on services due to staff absence rates, so please do what you can to reduce transmission.

"Wear a face covering and maintain a safe distance when out and about, and when meeting others take a lateral flow test before you go and get plenty of ventilation."

From Monday 17 January, you can leave self-isolation after five full days if you have a negative lateral flow test 24 hours apart on Day 5 and Day 6.

The default self-isolation period continues to be 10 days, and you may only leave self-isolation early if you have taken 2 rapid lateral flow tests and do not have a temperature in line with guidance.
