Dorset has seen a rapid increase in Covid-19 case rates.

In one week, cases in the Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole Council area have more than doubled, while cases in the Dorset Council area have increased by just under half.

7 day case rates per 100,000 since 16th July, BCP: 534.5 and Dorset: 265.8.

27 people are in hospital in the county after testing positive for Covid-19.

Public Health Dorset say the rise in cases locally and nationally is a reminder that we are still living with COVID-19, and despite restrictions being lifted we must keep doing all we can to prevent the spread of the virus.

Public Health Dorset are encouraging us to get our second does of the vaccine to have maximum protection against the virus.

As there were no changes to the requirement to self-isolate from 19th July, we are being asked to continue to self-isolate if you have symptoms, test positive or are identified as a close contact.
