Couple found dead in camper van while visiting New Forest Cider Festival
The 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man were both from Blandford Forum in Dorset
Two individuals were found dead whilst attending the New Forest Cider Festival last weekend.
The incident occurred overnight on Saturday, 11 October, inside a private campervan parked on site at Pound Lane, Burley, and is not connected to the festival’s activities or operations, organisers confirmed.
The festival released a statement saying: “We were deeply saddened to learn of the tragic deaths of two individuals who attended the New Forest Cider Festival last weekend.
"Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
"Hampshire Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances, and we continue to cooperate fully with their enquiries.
"Out of respect for the families, we will not be commenting further at this stage.”
Hampshire Police stated that shortly after midday on Sunday, 12 October, they were informed by South Central Ambulance Service of the unexpected deaths inside the parked campervan.
Officers attended the scene where a 38-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man, both from Blandford Forum in Dorset, were pronounced dead.
The police confirmed that next of kin have been notified and that a file will be prepared for the coroner.
There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the deaths, and investigations are ongoing.
