There's a chance to ask questions about the South Western Ambulance Service at today's Annual Members' Meeting.

The event - which is also being streamed online - is at Monks Yard in Ilminster, Somerset. from 10am – 11:30am.

Members of the Trust – which includes the public, staff, volunteers, and wider stakeholders – will be able to ask any questions they have about the service and to learn more about its work over the past year.

The service has been impacted by a number of NHS-related strikes in recent years, as crews highlighted concerns about working conditions and a general 'broken system', with ambulances often pictured queueing outside A&E departments across the region.

Today's meeting will highlight the changes made in the year after the wave of industrial action (see below).

Nicola Moorhouse, a spokesperson for the trust said: "By attending the Annual Members Meeting, you will help to ensure transparency and accountability as well as gaining an exclusive insight into the latest developments, future plans, and innovations within your local ambulance service."

Richard Crompton, Trust Chair at SWASFT, said: "This is a vital opportunity to reflect on the achievements of the past year, discuss the challenges we have faced, and outline our vision for the future.

“As we continue to navigate the evolving healthcare landscape, we remain committed to delivering high-quality emergency care and ensuring the resilience of our services through strong business continuity and emergency preparedness strategies.

"The dedication of our staff and the support of our community remain the cornerstone of our mission to provide safe and effective care for all.”
