Police investigating the theft of £1,700 worth of hire tools from a Wimborne store have shared CCTV images of a man they want to trace.

We're told two men gave a false address to staff at Brandon Tool Hire in New Borough Road to obtain the items back in June.

It's also reported the same pair hired items from Travis Perkins in Cobham Road in Ferndown the same day, and also didn't return them.

A man in his 60s from Lyme Regis was arrested on suspicion of theft and fraud by false representation, with a man in his 30s from Wimborne arrested on suspicion of theft.

They've both been bailed while investigations continue.

Officers now want to trace a further man, and have released CCTV pictures.

PC Chloe Norman, of Dorset Police, said: “We have been making a number of enquiries to identify those involved and have arrested two people.

“We are now in a position to release a CCTV image of a further man we would like to identify as part of our ongoing investigation.

“I would urge anyone who recognises them to please contact us.”

If you can help with any information about the thefts, or the identity of the man pictured, you can call Dorset Police on 101, quoting reference number 55240112022.
