CCTV: Two men sought following Poole robbery
A victim had his Rolex watch grabbed from his wrist
A man's had his expensive Rolex watch grabbed from him during a robbery in Poole - but thieves didn't get away with it.
The victim, in his 60s, was leaving the St Tropez Lounge in Poole Quay with a friend at around 9.45pm on Friday night (14th July), when they were approached from behind by another man.
He grabbed at the Rolex on the victim's wrist, causing the strap to break and watch to fall to the floor.
It was recovered before the offender could take it, and he ran away in the direction of Sarum Street, with another man, thought to be acting as his lookout.
Detective Inspector Darren Moores, of Bournemouth CID, said:
“We are conducting a full investigation into this matter, and we have obtained CCTV images of two men we would like to identify as part of our enquiries.
“I would urge anyone who recognises these men, or who witnessed the incident on the evening of Friday 14 July 2023, to please contact us.
“From our enquiries, we believe the two men involved in this incident were reportedly seen acting suspiciously on Poole Quay during the evening and may have approached other members of the public, so it would appear this victim may have been targeted for his high value watch.
“I would urge anyone wearing high value jewellery to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to police. I would also like to encourage any victims of similar offences to please report it to us.”
