Police have issued a CCTV image after a burglary at a store in Shaftesbury.

The break-in happened around 2.45am on Thursday morning (28 January) at the Central Convenience store at Ivy Cross.

Damage was caused to the front doors and an attempt was made to access a cash machine inside, but this was unsuccessful.

Police Constable Paul Cleal, of North Dorset police, said:

"We are carrying out a full investigation into this burglary and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or who has any information to assist our enquiries, to please contact us.

"We have obtained a CCTV image of the suspect and I am releasing this as part of our enquiries. I appreciate his face cannot be seen and the image is not the best quality but someone may recognise the clothing he is wearing and it may help jog their memory if they have seen him in the area."
